The Mountains

As I sit and view the mountains and feel their magic peace
I want to share their kind of strength, which means for me release
Of all that's mean and petty and all that's full of fear,
And all that blocks my vision of that which should be clear.
From their uneven ledges and from their jagged peaks
Flow a power and a calm, that's soothing like a balm.
They seem to have their answer. They know what they're to do.
They know that just by being, they are to themselves true.
Those mountains out there lie still and free
And do nothing at all, except simply be.
The more I observe them, the more clearly I see
How simple my job is. It's just to be me.
