Wrinkles

A new anti wrinkle cream has arrived on the market that enables a person to remove their life's badge, wrinkles, from their face. I contend that every wrinkle tells of your life; lets the world know that you've been here a while and that you've met and survived a few challenges. Wrinkles are the indicators that show you are part of the survivor's club; you've been involved; you've won a few and perhaps lost a few.

A wrinkle can only be won. It cannot be bought or given. It can only be earned by living life itself. A face without wrinkles, to me is a face without character. It is a bland composition of features. Youth calls for such a composition. Life's experiences have not yet made their mark. We would not expect to see a wrinkled face on a young person; but show me the face of an older person whose wrinkles have been removed either by plastic surgery or wrinkle cream and I will show you the face of a person who has greatly diminished his appearance of individuality.

Wrinkles provide a road map of where we've been and how we have responded to the journey; this person has laugh lines - this fellow worries a lot - this fellow is puzzled - this fellow has smiled his way through. By looking at the face that is untouched by external alteration, I know something of him. The inside person is revealed by what we see on the outside. It goes beyond mere image.

Wrinkles speak to the reality of your life as you have lived it and are still living it. You have earned these wrinkles. Wear them with pride!
